Strategic Advisory

Some governance challenges cannot be resolved by a project or a programme. They require a named, senior practitioner who understands your organisation, your risk profile, and your board. Someone who is available when you need them.

Clark & Company provides strategic advisory services to Vice-Chancellors, Registrars, Chief Operating Officers, and governing bodies that need that kind of relationship. Engagements at this level are bespoke, availability is limited, and every engagement is led personally by Craig Clark.

There is no standard package and no published rate. If what follows describes what you are looking for, the right place to start is a conversation.

Strategic Retained Advisory

Your organisation faces information governance, cyber security, and AI governance challenges that are strategic in nature. They sit above the operational work your in-house team manages day to day. They require independent, senior judgment and the confidence that comes from working with a practitioner who has seen the same challenges resolved in comparable institutions.

Strategic Retained Advisory provides your senior leadership team with ongoing access to that judgment. Engagements are structured around your organisation’s needs, not a fixed number of hours or a service catalogue.

Fractional CISO

Not every institution needs or can justify a full-time Chief Information Security Officer. But the cyber security governance responsibilities that sit with that role — board reporting, strategy ownership, regulatory engagement, and incident oversight — still need to be discharged by someone with the authority and expertise to do them properly.

Clark & Company provides a Fractional CISO service to institutions that need senior, credentialled cyber security leadership without the overhead of a permanent executive appointment. The engagement is structured to integrate with your existing governance framework and is visible at board level.

Board-Level Advisory

Governing bodies in education and the public sector carry personal accountability for how their institutions manage data, cyber risk, and the governance of AI. Most boards receive assurance on these issues through management reporting. Fewer have access to independent, external scrutiny of whether that assurance is well-founded.

Clark & Company provides board-level advisory to governing bodies that want independent expertise in the room. This is not a training session and it is not a compliance presentation. It is a standing advisory relationship with a senior practitioner who can challenge, assure, and advise at the level the governing body requires.
